Scene from Vivre Sa Vie edited by myself.

I conducted a case study in late 2021 titled:
Does Jean-Luc Godard’s statement ‘Today I still think of myself as a critic, and in a sense I am, more than ever before.’ redefine what it means to be an innovator?
The focus of this case study was on his work as a director – using his film ‘Vivre Sa Vie’ as a reference point to explore Godard’s innovations. The study used an innovation-derived and philosophical theoretical lens and looked to link both my interest in the film medium and my work within design thinking systems, using the philosophical lens as a way to align the two disciplines.
The research for the piece really helped me to reconsider how the disciplines are linked and in particular how perception is pivotal to how we create and how I am now of the belief that the consumer is looking for the perception of the designer, in particular the empathetic perception of the creative. As a creative,  we should look to give part of ourselves over to the consumer.
The case study is available below.
